When it is time to queue up residents for graduating or advancing to the next post-graduate year (PGY) you would use this screen to keep track of these changes. However, more actions can be performed through this feature. Additionally, you can also:
Initially, no one should be in the right hand grid, as seen below. This means that at this time, no upcoming resident changes are planned. However, as the academic year progresses, some of the changes listed above may need to happen or be scheduled. Advancement to the next PGY is not automatic, and has to be manually initiated through Graduate/Advance. Usage of this feature is also what supplies data to some reports that can be printed, such as the Resident Appointment History report.
Initiating a Change
The most common changes you will be initiating will be Change PGY and Move to Alumni. Change PGY enables you to advance your Residents to the next year of their residency program, and Move to Alumni removes the resident from your active list so they do not affect reporting or evaluation generation.
To initiate a change, go to Settings and from the left side, choose Graduate/Advance Year.

Residency Partner™ checks for these changes every 24 hours. Once the changes on the right have taken place, they will no longer appear there. Clicking Save Changes will automatically email the Residents or Fellows who are scheduled for a change.
The changes that you make will be color coded to match the change type.
