About Attendance

Attendance events can be scheduled, tracked and reported  in Residency Partner. Both attendings and residents can be scheduled to attend events. Events appear on the schedule in RP.NET, where the invitees can view details about their events.

A reminder to print a Sign-In sheet for the event can be emailed to the coordinator.

To create a new attendance event:

  1. Select the Attendance icon in the main toolbar.
  2. In the attendance window, select New.

  1. On the General tab of the Attendance window, fill in the information about your event. Checking  'Event not required' will indicate that this event filtered out of the attendance percentage reports. An attachment can be added for attendees to view before attending the event. If CME credits will be assigned for attending the event, you can add the number in the appropriate field. The Attendance Types can be added in the Lists module.
  2. Select the Attending tab to invite attendings to this event. This tab will not be enabled until Date and Attendance Type fields have been filled out.

  1. Select the Residents tab to invite residents to the event. The Residents tab will only be available to select after you have entered in the Date and Attendance Type.

  1. If the residents are required to attend this event (i.e: their attendance to this required event is supposed to be included with their academic attendance percentages), you can either individually enable the Required checkbox next to specific names or you can click on Require All. If Required is enabled then disabled at any time, a warning will be displayed so you know that this attendance will no longer be counted towards the attendance percentage. Click Yes to uncheck and No to keep Required checked.

Recording Attendance

After the event, you can record the resident's attendance by opening the attendance event, returning to the Residents tab, and selecting Attended. If all of the residents attended the event, you can click All Attend. If a resident did not attend, but was excused, you would select the excused check box. A reason for the absence can be added in the Excused column. If neither the Attended or Excused columns are selected, the resident is considered unexcused. Residency Partner is defaulted to set attendance as Required, when Attended or Excused are selected, if the attendance event is required at the event level (this is established on the General tab).

       Excused Reason

If you have checked Excused, you can type in a short reason for the absence in the Reason column. This column is only meant to be used to explain the reason                for the Excused absence, and will only save if you have selected Excused.

Duplicating an Attendance Event

An attendance event can be duplicated by selecting the event, then clicking Duplicate. All the settings of the event will be duplicated, except the selected attendings and residents.

Attendance Reports

Reports about attendance events are available on the Attendance tab of Reports.
