Before you import ERAS data into Residency Partner, you must first export selected fields from ERAS and save them to a text file. Ask your administrator for instructions on how to perform the export from ERAS.

Keep the following things in mind as you are importing residents.

To import ERAS data into Residency Partner:

  1. From the File menu, select Import.
  2. Select ERAS Data and Import to This Program Only. If any of the other options are selected, clear them.
  3. Click Import.

  1. Browse to the location of the text file, select it, then click Open.
  1. The ERAS Import - Fields window shows the first file to be imported. Use the scroll bar to view the fields and the data being imported to make sure they are correct. Click Next.
  1. The default Start Date for all of the residents you are importing from ERAS will be the first of July in the upcoming academic year. You can edit the start date if needed.
  2. The default PGY for all the residents you are importing from ERAS will be PGY 1. You may select another PGY from the list. If the PGY you want to apply to the residents does not appear in the lists, you will first need to add it on the Rotations tab of Program Options.
  3. If the Start Date and PGY are correct, click Next.

  1. If there were any columns of data in the ERAS file that were not imported, you will be notified. To continue importing, click OK.
  1. Take a moment to review the data you will be importing, then click Import.
  1. A message stating the number of records imported will appear. Click OK.
  1. When the message Import Completed! appears, click OK.
